Parts of Speech

In English Grammar there are 8 parts of speech. These parts of speech are very important to understand if we want to learn English Grammar.In any sentence we find some words.To understand the sentence it is important for us to understand the words used in that sentence.To understand the words it is important for us to understand the meaning and the function of the words.To understand the meaning it is important for us to understand that the word which we are dealing with comes under which part of speech and what are the functions of that part of speech in any sentence.

It is also to be noted that the type of the word depends on it's use in the sentence.
As :-
1). The principal of our school sits in a big chair.
2). I chair a meeting of my staff members on every Friday.

In the first sentence the word chair is NOUN and in the second sentence the word chair is a VERB.

The 8 parts of speech are as follows:-

1). Noun
2). Pronoun
3). Adjective
4). Verb
5). Preposition
6). Conjunction
7). Adverb
8). Interjection
